Flipper here is a 2 year old Welsh Corgi mix. He is energetic and loves to play with other dogs. Flipper is also very friendly with people in the kennel and on walks.  This neutered boy would do best in a home with kids over the age of 10 as he doesn’t like to share his food or toys. Brownie is an active and fun loving 2 year old pup. She is a mixed breed and she loves to play with other dogs. Brownie would be great in a household with other dogs, including other athletic pups. She loves cuddling with her human companions and has proven to be quite a smart canine.

If you’re looking for a workout buddy, Brownie is your girl! She is attentive and very obedient. She walks well on her leash and she is house trained. She keeps herself busy with her toys and squirrel-watching from windows.

Ella has been with the Animal Rescue League since Valentine’s Day, but she hasn’t exactly seen as much love as they had hoped. This adorable little Cattle Dog mix is white with red merle and she’s a pint sized girl at only about 25 pounds. Ella is a clever girl and loves to be out and about with people. Cattle dogs are a busy, smart breed so she will need lots of stimulation and plenty of exercise.

Though Ella is petite, she thinks that she is the boss of the other dogs and does not want to share her “things.” She thinks that lots of things are hers including her people, her bed, her toys, and her food. Therefore Ella would do best in a home where she can be the only pet. She does well with other dogs in play groups.

Ella was originally rescued from the south as a 5 month old puppy. She missed out on some early socialization, and remains timid of new people and children at a year old. Hi there, I’m Brownie and I’m just as sweet as my name suggests! I’m a young pup (approximately 9 months old) who can’t wait to find a new owner who will give me the loving attention I deserve. I would benefit greatly from an ample amount of exercise and obedience training that a dog my age so desperately needs.

I am an active, 15 pound boy who loves my toys and I’m super playful with people and other dogs! Cats? I have never lived with one before, but if you have a kitty at home please inquire with the shelter staff as to whether I may be able to. Because I’m still learning to be polite, and can grab my toys from your hand a bit rudely sometimes, a home with adults only would be the best fit for me.

I also need some guidance when it comes to housetraining, but don’t worry – the staff here can give you lots of good information about how to help me be successful! I am required to attend Beginner’s Obedience here at the adoption center, where my new owner and I can learn the ropes and bond with one another. It’s gonna be awesome!

Friday is here, Boston! Time to check out a deserving adoptable dog of the week: Meet Brewski!

Brewski here is a 7 year old Pomeranian and Silky Terrier mix. This little boy had the perfect mom for most of his life until she recently became ill and came to the painful decision to find Brewski another home.

This sweet boy hasn’t had a lot of experience out in the world and new things can be kind of scary for him. A few short trips outside and some nice indoor games are really all the exercise he will need to be stay happy and healthy. Brewski’s ideal day would be to sit beside you on the couch and slowly snuggle my way into your lap. And your heart, of course!

Brewski’s ideal home would be a calm household where he can soak up all the attention he can. It’s recommended that Brewski be the only pet in the home. This long-haired boy will need a lot of gentle brushing to keep his luxurious coat in top form, which he loves. Kids: This little girl may look like a stuffed animal, but she would rather not be squeezed like one! Therefore a home with gentle, dog-savvy kids who can give me space when I need it would be best for her.
Dogs: Bailey loves other dogs, but she’s still learning her manners. She wants to be their best friend right away and can sometimes overwhelm them quickly. If you have a dog with a similar outlook on life, they might be a great match.
Cats: The shelter staff does not believe she’s ever met a cat, but she may like to live with one. If you have a cat at home ask the shelter staff about a cat test.

Exercise: Bailey’s little legs can’t handle long walks, but a few short ones and some quality time with the tennis ball every day will surely keep her a happy, healthy dog.
Best Qualities: She loves to climb up in laps and give chin kisses!

Kids: I am very sweet and love the cuddles, but I would prefer to live with bigger kids who can keep up with me at play time too. Play, play, play!

Housetraining: I keep my kennel mostly clean here. A good schedule of outside time in my new home and I’ll get back my spotless record in no time!

Nala here is a fluffy, quiet 7 year old Chow Chow who was brought to the shelter due because her previous owners were expecting a baby. Nala can be very shy at first but will warm up if you are patient and supportive. She enjoys the company of other low-key dogs. Though she isn’t overly playful, she does have bursts of puppy-like energy.

Despite her shyness, her best command is “come!” She enjoys walks and shows interest in the squirrels and other small animals. Grooming is a must for this fluffy good-natured lady. Nala is just the right mix of “get-up-and-go” when outside and laziness when inside. It doesn’t get much better than this adorable pup.

Cocoa here is a precious pittie (Pit Bull Terrier) mix who is 2 years old. She has been at Boston’s MSPCA shelter since the end of February. She’s currently looking for an active family who has the time to work in plenty of play and of course lovin’ time.

Cocoa’s ideal home would be one with older children. She would do great in a home with other pets as long as they had a proper introduction first. Since Cocoa is still a young girl, she needs plenty of physical and mental exercise. Daily walks and playtime will be essential to keep this active pup happy and healthy.

Bruin is a young boy at just 5 months old and he is a Chihuahua mix. The ideal home for Bruin would be one with adults that have plenty of time to give him all of the love and attention he deserves. He is tiny and very fragile so it’s recommended that he goes to a home with older kids who know how to be gentle with him.

Bruin would do great in a home with other dogs but of course would need a proper introduction first. He is super friendly and quite the playful boy. A few short walks a day would be perfect for Bruin and a little play time will keep him healthy and happy.
Bruin is still learning to house train since he is still a puppy but once he’s on a consistent schedule in his new home, the staff at MSPCA is sure that he’ll be trained in no time at all. Won’t you come scoop up this adorable little boy? He’s sure to give all the affection you’ll ever need.
